Christmas Morning on Sunday

We had a really amazing church service on Christmas morning in which our choir and instrumentalists, etc performed during most of the service, and Dennis Remy gave a powerful talk about how each one of us must “Come to Bethlehem” throughout our lives. I don’t think I have ever been affected quite the way I was. It was during the opening prayer given by brother Rawlingson when I became extremely aware of the personal nature of Christmas and our Savior’s atonement. The song, Joy to the World, became a song for me, personally, in a way I’ve never felt it before. It wasn’t a song about some future or past even for the whole world, but about this present-day for me, personally. It was truly a WOW moment for me. The song, Still, Still, Still, took on new meaning for me as we sang it as a choir—Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. All is hushed, the world is sleeping, Holy Star its vigil keeping., Still, still, still, one can hear the falling snow. Sleep, sleep, sleep, ‘tis the eve of our Savior’s birth. The night is peaceful all around you, close your eyes, let sleep surround you. Sleep, sleep, sleep. ‘Tis the eve of our Saviour’s  birth. Dream, dream, dream, of the joyous day to come. While guardian angels without number watch you as you sweetly slumber. Dream, dream, dream, of the joyous day to come. What really came to me was: Be still and know that I am God. Come into the rest of God. Put aside your worries. Focus on Him. He is in charge. Allow Him to be God of your soul. Let not the cares of this world trouble you. Today, everything became very personal to me—the songs, Church, Christ’s atonement.
